Royal Adelaide Show 2017

Yay! My Wedding Cake made it to the 2nd Place in Royal Adelaide Show 2017😊😊

The theme was Roses. This is what i came up with: a 4 tier marbled fondant covered wedding cake with silver leafs and sugar roses. I created a few different types of colourful roses here to make it more stand out 😊😊 All of the flowers were made out of fondant.

So many beautiful entries and i’m so grateful to God for giving me this opportunity!

Pink and Gold 21st Birthday

Here is a cake I made for Anna's 21st Birthday. It was gold hand painted edible sequins with pink sugar flowers.
Thanks Anna for the lovely review :)

"My 21st birthday cake was absolutely amazing all thanks Novita! Her customer service was incredible and never left me waiting and is always so friendly and easy to talk too! The attention to detail on the cake was more than I expected and the sugar handmade flowers looked better than real ones! I have never had a cake as amazing as this one and I will not forget to mention how great it tasted, so moist and very flavoursome.
What a great experience had with heavenly d'lights, look no further if you want a cake that looks and tastes great! Thankyou once again Novita! Xxx"

Chalkboard Anniversary and Birthday Cake

This year marks our 15th Wedding Anniversary and my husband also turned 39 on the same day :) Last year i made him a gravity defying beer glass cake, which i think was a pretty crazy attempt.
This year i went for a simple single tier Chalkboard Cake, which i always wanted to try.
The chalk effect was hand painted. Painting is not my best skill at all as I don't have a steady hand. But i think it turned up quite well :)

The flowers were edible :) Cake was Mocha Sponge with mocha SMBC.

21st Birthday White Sugar Flowers on Black

I love Black and White with a touch of Gold :) This cake was requested as a surprise for a 21st Birthday.
The cake was Dark Chocolate Mud.

" Hi Novita, Thank you! The cake arrived all in one piece, we had it stored in an cool temp office room :) The Party went really great, We dimed the lights off and came in with the cake with candles & She screamed with excitement. She was so pleased and happy with the cake. & so was the whole family. It was very delicious. and all of it went gone fast... I could barely save myself a piece lol.... Thank you soooo much Novita. You have really out done yourself with this cake & I will definitely be back for a next cake." - Querida xx

Gold Sequins Wedding Cake with sugar flower

My project this week was to create a Rustic Wedding Cake with gold edible sequins and sugar flowers.
It was rather a cloudy day in Melbourne today, so my camera didn't really catch the shiny look of the airbrushed lustre on the cake. But...i had so much fun creating this 3 tier Golden wedding cake

Lace Wedding Cake in Brown Ombre with Sugar Peony

Love making this wedding cake. The lace was edible and my first attempt too in making it :) I used brown ombre coloured fondant for each tier to make it look more elegant.

Stencilled Wedding Cake with Sugar Peonies

Trying a new skill: Painting with a stencil. It wasn't that easy as I don't have a steady hand. But I love how it turned out. The sugar peonies are also my recent new skill ^^

Blue Sequins Wedding Cake with Ruffles

This year, Cakeriffic Expo held a Cake Competition for Beginner, Novice, and Intermediate Level.

This was my entry for the Novice Level (a cake decorator for more than 2 yrs). Although it didn't get selected as a winner, i'm glad that i could showcase my creation at one of the biggest cake expos in Melbourne.

This fashion inspired cake has sequins that cover the top tier and thin frills with silver lustre edge on the bottom tier. The flower was made using the techniques i recently learnt. The board was also embossed with flower patterns and brushed with pearl lustre. Thank you Cakeriffic for the opportunity :)

2 Tier Wedding Cake with Camellia Roses

I had a private lesson with Patricia from Yummy Cupcakes and Cakes Sydney on the weekend. I had been so excited to learn from her, as she is the master of sugar flowers. I loved how I'm finally able to make this 2 tiered wedding cake, with perfect and smooth sharp edge, lustred finish, and also these big camellia roses were really stunning! I never thought I could accomplish this, but I did it! Yay..:)

Wedding Cake with Sugar Flowers

This was my first attempt making Sugar Roses and Hydrangeas for a Wedding. I loved how this cake turned out. The bride and the groom's wedding theme was supposed to be purple. However, a few days before the wedding day, most of the room decorations were in pink. Not purple! This was because the bride's family came from overseas, and they decided on the decorations...ooppss!!! I was in quite a shocked, as the flowers were already made in purple.

I quickly made the roses buds in soft pink and luckily I had a 'purply pinkish' ribbon to add on top of the purple ribbon. The wedding turned out to be such a beautiful wedding with mixture of purple and pink. And of course my cake, turned out to be really suitable with the theme :)

The top tier was a Layered Sponge Cake with Rum and had the embroidery effects all around. And the bottom tier was dark choc mud. Happy Wedding to my Bride and Groom xo

Church Anniversary cake

This was the biggest cake I did. The size was 20×10 inch. Thankfully it was covered in buttercream and topped with shredded cheddar. So I didn’t have to perfect the covering in fondant. The sugar flowers were arranged a day before it had to be delivered. I was so shocked to find that the flowers were all wilted away in the morning, due to the humidity. Thank God I made spares flowers :)

Peony and Lace Wedding Cake

Blank canvas ready for decorations
Had fun making this cake. It was my first peony attempt, and I was pleased with the result. The figurines of the groom and the bride are from gumpaste. I think I have made the groom slightly darker. Oooppss...! The lace are from fondant with a bit of tylose, and I used a pasta machine to roll them at the same thickness.

The cake was a Vanilla Cake withVanila Bean Buttercream and White Choc Ganache, and top tier was a Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream and Dark Choc and Orange Ganache.

It was the first Wedding Cake I made. Had fun doing it, although the original look wasn't planned to be like this. But the client was happy with it :)
